Data policy

Draft. This page describes how the product works today and is being reviewed before launch. Questions: hello@indianschoolsdatabase.com.

What the database contains

Institutional contact information for Indian schools, colleges, universities, coaching, training and research institutes: institution name and type, board and affiliation number, address, district, state and pincode, the institution's published email addresses, phone numbers and website, and the name and designation of the principal or primary contact where the institution publishes it.

Where it comes from

Records are compiled from public directories and registries where institutions publish their own contact details, then deduplicated into one record per institution. Every record keeps the names of its sources and a source count. Fields added by our enrichment pipeline are applied only from verifiable evidence and are never generated from a pattern. We do not use private data, scraped personal social profiles or purchased consumer lists.

How buyers may use it

  • For your organisation's own business outreach, research and planning.
  • You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your outreach, including telemarketing and messaging rules and data protection law, when you contact anyone on the list.
  • You may not resell, republish or redistribute the database or substantial parts of it.

Corrections, opt-out and removal requests

If you represent an institution and want a record corrected, want a contact field removed, or want the whole record removed, email hello@indianschoolsdatabase.com with:

  • the institution's name and location as it appears on our pages;
  • what you want changed or removed;
  • a way to see that you speak for the institution, such as writing from the institution's own domain.

We apply the change in the database and confirm by email. The change flows to every customer's future exports; customers are asked to honour opt-outs and not to contact an institution that has asked not to be contacted. Lists already exported before the change are the customer's responsibility to refresh.

What the database is not

It is not a consumer marketing list: there are no parent or student records, no private mobile numbers collected from individuals, and no data bought from data brokers. Where a principal's name appears it is the name the institution itself publishes in its official role. We do not verify individual email addresses on your behalf, and we do not guarantee that any particular institution is currently operating; the lead quality score and the source count on each record are there so you can judge a record before you use it.

Freshness and accuracy

Enrichment runs continuously; the headline numbers on this page refresh every hour from the live database. Every record carries a completeness score and quality flags so you can judge it before you use it.
